To provide Basic First Aid training to meet your specific needs.

Training Objectives:

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Recognise First Aid emergencies

  • Understand and demonstrate essential life saving skills

Course Syllabus:

  • Responsibilities of First Aiders

  • Scene Management

  • Principles of treatment Patient Assessment: (Primary and Secondary Surveys)

  • CPR & use of an AED (Defibrillator)

  • CPR and AED practical

  • Recovery position

  • Blood and the circulation System

  • Heart Attack

  • Stroke

  • Wounds and Bleeding including the application of Dressings and Bandages

  • Respiratory Emergencies including choking and Asthma

  • Altered levels of consciousness incl fainting, seizures etc.

  • Shock including its recognition and treatment

  • Musculoskeletal Injuries: Fractures, Sprains, Strains and Dislocations

  • Head injuries including compression, concussion and factures

  • Allergic reactions including Anaphylactic shock

  • Burns, scalds and Bites

  • Poisoning, Electrocution

Basic online first aid for TY & LCA students

Course Duration

1 day or over 2 days tailored to suit your needs

Certification

All successful candidates will receive a Basic First Aid certificate valid for a period of 2 years.
